HANG WITH THE BEST!
Yeah, yeah, we know. Most insurance companies specify aftermarket or salvage parts for collision repairs to keep costs in line. But collision professionals know that authentic O.E. crash parts are still the real deal.
The world is filled with aftermarket and imitation collision repair products. Some are pure junk. Others approach O.E. parts in terms of quality. But the fact is this, nothing beats O.E. quality.
And speaking of cost, don’t assume that aftermarket parts are always less expensive. We can supply you with O.E. bumpers, fascias, headlamp and taillamp assemblies—some of the most commonly used crash parts—for the same price as aftermarket products. O.E. quality, aftermarket prices, that’s what your customers deserve.
· Quality– A few years ago, a study was conducted to determine best practices for certifying crash parts. California’s Bureau of Automotive Repairs(BAR), part of the Department of Consumer Affairs, conducted the study. The BAR conducted an in-house vehicle test fit to compare O.E. to non-O.E. crash parts.
Four out of five non-O.E. aftermarket crash parts were inferior to the O.E. parts installed on the vehicles. The non-O.E. parts did not have proper fit or body alignment, and they needed additional modifications to be properly installed. The additional costs needed to modify the non-O.E. parts actually exceeded the costs of the O.E. parts.
Beyond just fit and finish, there are many other reasons why OEM crash parts are superior to aftermarket parts. For example, all OEM sheet metal receives the same factory corrosion protection as production vehicles. Aftermarket companies often can’t make that claim.
