Ford F-350 Super Duty Vehicle Information
Ford’s F-Series Super Duty line of pickup trucks have been some of the best selling trucks in the United States for 40 years. Achieving that level of popularity means that there is no room for mediocrity, and Ford has showcased that fact in their new F-350 model. Reliable and robust, the 2018 F-350 is the truck of choice for all the hard jobs.
You only have to look at the new F-350 to know it means business. With a frame that emphasizes its tough, workhorse capability, everything about this pickup indicates that it is going to excel at any rough job you give it. You can add a little of your own style to it by picking from 12 exterior colors, and complement that color with some convenient aesthetics such as LED box lights and LED sideview mirror spotlights.
Most people purchase Super Duty pickups for two reasons: Cargo capacity and towing. In both of these areas the 2018 F-350 excels. Payload capacity varies with cab and box size – a 4x4 Regular Cab with the 8-foot box will net you 7160 pounds (lb) of payload capacity. A 4x4 SuperCab with a 6.75-foot box will get you 4620 lbs of payload room, and with the eight-foot box it will get you 6780 lbs. A 6.75-foot box on a 4x4 Crew Cab provides you with 4470 lbs of payload capacity, while the eight-foot box gives you 6540 lbs.
One of the things the new F-350 does best is tow with a full payload. With either the 9900 lb Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or 11400 lb GVWR packages, you can give your truck what it needs to pull while loaded up with payload. The 5th-wheel/Gooseneck 5th-wheel/Gooseneck Trailer Tow Prep package will outfit your truck with everything needed to haul a gooseneck or 5th wheel trailer. The standard integrated trailer brake controller (in the XL DRW, XLT, and LARIAT models only) ensures that braking while hauling is always precise. The trailer sway control feature, also standard, works by selectively and automatically modifying engine torque and applying the brakes in order to prevent your trailer from swaying, allowing you to maintain control regardless of whether you are driving through across the country or simply navigating Orlando’s busy streets. Available towing features include the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System and the Trailer brake controller with Smart Trailer Tow Connector, which allow you to conveniently hitch and monitor your trailer better than ever before.
The F-350 is capable of so much because of what it has to offer under the hood. Both of the F-350’s engine options are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The 6.7 liter (L) Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel engine can spit out 440 horsepower (hp) and 925 pound-feet (lb-ft) of torque. The 6.2 L 2-valve V8 FFV gas engine puts out 385 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. Recommended fuel for these engines are ultra low-sulfur diesel and regular unleaded, respectively.
A truck this versatile is not without its impressive safety features. The SOS Post-Crash Alert System will unlock all vehicle doors and sound the horn in the event of a collision and airbag deployment, allowing first responders to get to the driver and/or passengers more quickly. The standard AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control (RSC) feature prevents loss of vehicle control by adjusting engine torque in the event that there is any wheel slippage when driving. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) alerts you to any change in tire pressure that falls below recommended levels, and the available Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) automatically notifies you if any vehicle enters your blind spots.
The F-350 is part of a bestselling series of pickup trucks for good reason: It is tougher than any other in its class. At Greenway Ford, we have seen more than one satisfied customer drive the 2018 F-350 off the lot, and we know we will see a lot more.
